P O I S O N E D POSTCARDS -
MEMORIES OF UNSEEN PLACES
Someone keeps sending me postcards from places unknown, at least unfound in any touristic attractions guides of any country. These postcards seem to have made a long long way before ending up in my letterbox - their surface is damaged and dirty, the cardboard is musty and scratched. No text on the backside, no identifiable senders sign, only a destroyed stamp.
The motives look eerie, some remind you of locations that you could have visited in weird dreams only. The landscapes shown suggest a poisoned environment and make you doubt if these places would still exist... As they seem to be connected to someone’ s memory or visions, I decided to document them as what they are: phenomenally strange visual messages. I started taking pictures of each postcard’ s frontside and collected the pictures, threw away the original cards. It was a private and twisted pleasure, until some friends encouraged me to showcase these pictures. Here they are.
